According to HB2824, the state board is responsible for "ensuring that all students receive the necessary and appropriate screenings, evaluations and early assessments for specific learning disabilities, including dyslexia and dyscalculia." Universality of screening may depend upon interpretation of "necessary and appropriate." Senate Bill 69 sought to explicitly require universal screening in 2015, but the bill died before being passed.
