The Adolescent Assessment of Literacy Tool (AAL)

Developed as a screener to assess literacy skills of students from the 3rd to the 12th grade in the Fall, the AAL generates a scoring report with probability-based scores to help teachers identify which students are not likely to meet benchmark expectations. The assessment also provides percentile ranks so that users may see how the student performs relative to their gradelevel peers at a national level. Read the full summary here.

When you are ready, watch the video below then press "Get Started" to begin the assessment. Please ensure a stable wifi connection for the duration of the assessment.

The Adolescent Assessment of Literacy (AAL) is a free, computer-adaptive screening tool designed to measure reading and language skills that are critical for students’ overall literacy development.
